<Poem>
鏡湖三百里，
菡萏發荷花。
五月西施採，
人看隘若耶。
回舟不待月，
歸去越王家。
<End Poem>
<Translation>
On Mirror Lake for three hundred li,
Gaily, gaily the lilies are blossoming.
In the fifth month Hsi-shih gathers them,
Multitudes are watching from the bank:
The boat dies not wait the coming of the moon,
But slowly returns to the palace of the King of Yueh.
